Meet the Team

At Walkers' Coach our team is growing and will continue to do as as we roll out our services throughout the UK and beyond. Below is the team to date - as well as me of course.

Susan Moore

After 20 years working as a PA in the City and abroad at senior level for major financial institutions, I decided that 2006 was the year to make a change. So I took the VA Mastery Class and set up Moore VA to provide remote secretarial and administrative support to small businesses, professionals and freelancers.

With my wide experience, I also offer management of support teams; event management and organization; conferences, exhibitions and corporate hospitality at home and abroad.

Working with Walkers’ Coach, my job is to make sure that everything runs smoothly and I’m involved in setting up events, coordinating membership and providing support to the team. We are all passionate about what we do at Walkers’ Coach and it’s great to hear the success stories and to see the difference that walking can make to people’s lives. It’s also very useful to get feedback so if you have a question or would like to talk to us about what we do, please e-mail smoore@mooreva.co.uk

I cannot imagine going back to my previous life, every day is so different now and being able to play a role in shaping Walkers’ Coach as it grows and develops is fabulous!

I love walking and writing, the outdoors, travel and adventure, and working creatively with people.  Walkers’ Coach is a perfect match for my passions.

My first meeting with Heather left me buzzing with excitement and that buzz remains today.  I believe that Walkers’ Coach is a brilliant concept and is making a difference to people’s lives in many different ways.  Heather has a real passion for what she does, has great ideas, and a wonderfully warm and engaging character.  We share similar values and ethics, and set high standards for customer service.  We both want our work to be inspirational, innovative and fun.

As a professional coach, media skills trainer and writer/journalist I have a unique blend of skills and experience, I’ve also travelled to many parts of the world and walked in some amazing and beautiful countries. It’s brilliant helping Walkers’ Coach to inspire and encourage more people to get walking and discover the difference it can make to their lives, work and relationships.

I trained as a co-active coach with the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and am a member of the International Coach Federation. I now run my own business and love the flexibility that gives me and enjoy working with people to develop their talents, resolve issues and move forward.

My own ambitions include tackling the world’s highest trekking peaks, raising a huge stack of money for charities, learning fluent Italian, and taking a prize-winning photo.

Walking has always been one of my favourite forms of exercise.  When I got married, our honeymoon trip was a walking holiday in the Spanish Pyrenees.  The great thing about walking is that it involves new scenery, visiting different parts of the country (and the world) for new walking experiences, and also very importantly, because I really enjoy having a great lunch or a good picnic as part of a day’s walking.  And that’s how we get to my main passion – food!  I’ve always loved everything to do with food, cooking it, eating it, talking about.  So when I decided that I wanted to train in something that I felt passionate about, nutrition was the natural path to take.  I now look at food slightly differently as I understand more about its vital role in our health and wellbeing, but I’m still of the opinion that even the healthiest food will do you no good unless you enjoy it.

I have my own nutrition business and do both one to one consultations and health and wellbeing workshops and really enjoy running my own business.  Working with Walker’s Coach as their nutrition consultant is great because it’s all about wellbeing and enjoying life.  I always say that it’s not the absence of illness that counts, but the presence of wellness.

Being made redundant from a 22 year career in banking was the best promotion I could have asked for! Because of my interest in alternative therapies, I retrained as a masseur some 15 years ago, and thankfully have never looked back.

I continued to study different forms of massage therapy, and had the pleasure of working with local athletes, triathletes, cyclists, walkers, people with disabilities, and ballet dancers in the West End. However, the bulk of my work was dealing with the general public’s bad backs and necks, mostly caused by postural problems.

This led me to study, and now teach Pilates, having been to classes for some years previously, which had helped me overcome my own postural issues. I realised the value of these exercises whilst walking, as I helped other walkers to reduce their knee and back pains on steep trails in the Swiss Alps. It’s no wonder Osteopaths and Physiotherapists recommend Pilates, and it’s a wonder that I have any spare time to pursue my love of walking, photography, music, cinema, friends and family, and now an allotment for my love of food and care of the enironment!

Heather is a client who has sampled both massage and Pilates and continues to come back. I'm really pleased to be able to help and support by being part of the Walkers' Coach team
